What is a perfect world necessarily? In my opinion, there is no such thing as a perfect world but a world that try’s to focus on the positive aspects of life and that doesn’t include “me, myself, and I” statements; it would also be concerning others. A major aspect of life would be the hope to have a great and promising future. Anyone could literally have a million opportunities at the tips of their fingers but, does everyone really take advantage of them? Education is the key to pursing a great future. It’s so important now a days that we need more than just a high school diploma to have a fulfilling career that we love and enjoy. Although, many don’t appreciate what they already have or are not simply determined to get farther in life and enthusiastic in learning new things. People blame our education to have fallen behind in the past years. The problem is not just the lack of money for supplies, the quality of teachers etc. I strongly believe that most part of it has to do with the learners.
The students are not doing their part in being determined to go beyond their abilities or challenging themselves in one way or the other. Since there are a lot of opportunities in education it makes students take choices on whether they should challenge themselves or be “average”. I say ALL schools should be challenging either way choices or no choices, students shouldn’t have a choice what level they want to reach since they ARE the future and we need them to move on in life and help out our country. This is why I think students shouldn’t really have a choice so they can just go one way that would be the BEST way.

Using specific evidence to support your arguments, are you for or against Arizona SB 1070?
SB 1070 has become one of the Medias hot topics this year. Many people are for and others against it based on many different factors. Personally, I believe that this law is unconstitutional and implies racial profiling. Yeah, this bill allows police officers to pull over a driver for an actual reason and then ask for their documents but, are all the officers doing so with that exception? To me it seems that Hispanics are the one ethnic group that is being triggered the most. I don’t see why Arizona doesn’t put immigrants from other countries in mind as much as them. If they want to get rid of them they can just enforce their borders if they are scared of people snuggling weapons and other threats. Also, why would Arizona want to get rid of immigrants if that’s were a lot of their profits and gains have come from?
The only reason I see it would be okay to pass this law is because of how tax payers would be able to save way more money for education if illegal immigrants left with their children. This would hurt those businesses that rely on illegal-immigrant labor or customers though. In 2008, they made a study that without Illegal immigrants our economy would get reduced by $245 billon and lose 2.8 million jobs. In this case, it’s kind of a win-lose situation. You have to lose some to win some. Even after this discussion, I am not sure if it should be passed or not; there is some benefits as well as negative aspects to it.

Reaction towards war in Afghanistan.
During the discussion my cousin and I had based on the Afghanistan War my thought on it remained the same. First of all, we agreed that the Afghanistan War is not only affecting our economy but also keeping us away from focusing on issues we have here in our country. Secondly, we also agreed that Terrorism can’t be fully eliminated but contained; even though we fight against it, it will still be around. Therefore, if we keep fighting terrorism and end up winning this war, sooner or later we predict our country would face some kind of terrorism act or threat. It is hard for the Afghans to get used to having soldiers there all the time killing innocent ones to protect others. I can understand why they don’t want us there but in my belief, I think we should only help them if they want it.
Overall, I was surprised how much my cousin knew about this topic, I thought she would’ve known less. We agreed on basically everything throughout our discussion. Although, I still had to help her support some of her arguments with facts, I can say we had a good time discussing this topic. We couldn’t debate if our country should stay there or pullout though.

In your opinion, what is the most important economical issue facing the United States right now?
Based on my opinion, I strongly believe that the national debt itself is the most important economical issue facing the United States right now. It affects many aspects of people’s everyday lives whether its: personal needs, education, unemployment, etc. Since there are so many individuals in the country that are unemployed, it’s hard for them to attain what they need personally. The one’s that are being educated as a result to the debt, have less days of school, their teachers being “laid-off” which makes the students be in larger classes or having to adapt to new teachers, less school supplies such as text books and other important supplies they need. Also, those that are in college have hard time receiving financial aid or simply paying of their tuition. Therefore, they end up working part time or even full time; some even end up dropping out of school and just work instead because it’s just impossible for them to do both.
The national debt also means higher taxes which also affect individuals’ salaries and work advances. It makes them work fewer hours, have longer vacations (fewer days of work per year). This debt makes their loans increase dramatically some even higher then what their house is worth. This is what happens when taxes are not being used for public goods but on the other hand, as transfer payments. It reduces savings and investing as well. In general, the whole issue with the national debt is what is affecting our economy overall.
